Just Add Water

For thousands of years, Zen Buddhist monks have been painting with water on stone as a meditation on impermanence--making ephemeral marks that disappear as the water evaporates. This hand-cut slate tablet and brush set encourages a similar practice to express wishes and affirmations, practice sumi-e (brush painting) and calligraphy, and focus your mind through a creative exercise. The tablet can be used over and over again; just add a little water and an open mind. Slate handmade in Seal Rock, Oregon by Kelly Barker. Brush imported.

Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.

Cool Concept

My fiance will use this the morning of our wedding to help keep her calm and relaxed. I think it will provide some nice photos opportunities, too!

Love this!

I love this wishing stone, it's used daily and many wishes have been written.

Awesome gift

Have not used the product

San Diego

Bought as a gift for my mother, because she's so stressed out all the time! Arrived intact, and my mom seemed to really like it. It does seem a bit pricey though, I probably wouldn't have paid this for any one other than my mother.

Very Disappointed

Very disappointed. The stone is MUCH darker than shown in the picture - very dark gray, nearly black. Water doesn't show on the stone. Don't waste your money.

A Gift That Imitates Life

The Rock is kept on the kitchen table always there to be used for an early morning or evening touch of art.

Great for anxiety sufferers

My friend gave me this for my birthday and I love it. I suffer from anxiety and often times will pick my fingers until I bleed because I'm anxious. This has helped me to avoid doing that. I love the idea of writing anything you want on it or just doodling with it and watching it disappear. It was a very thoughtful gift.

I would buy this again

Product is durable, fun to use and very calming.

Small for the price

I'm sure the dimensions were in the catalog description but this looked much larger in the picture than it is. I love the concept and the slate is finished nicely but for the price this looks a bit cheap because of it's size.
