Holger Graf and Daniel Lantz
Holger Graf and Daniel Lantz describe their work as “steeped in traditional Japanese and German aesthetics.” The pair of yin and yang designers found each other after starting on opposite paths. Holger earned a Ph.D. in structural engineering in Germany, while Daniel studied shokunin, or Japanese craftsmanship. They met in Los Angeles and soon after started their own design company, which embraces the materials and processes of both cultures. Working mainly with Merino wool felt, they like to play with bold shapes and lines in each unique design. Their mission is to sculpt the world’s oldest fabric into modern and unexpected forms. They live and create in Los Angeles.
