Spongester

This stainless steel rack helps expunge bacteria by keeping your "good sponge" and "evil sponge" separate.

Fight Grime

To wipe out bad guys (germs), you have to sink to their level--the kitchen sink, to be exact. This industrial-grade stainless steel rack helps expunge bacteria while keeping it clean with two distinct shelves for your separate sponges. A slot for your "good sponge" (used for counter top and dishes) and "evil sponge" (sink and drain) helps you keep track of your scrubbers without sacrificing space or style. The SpongesterTM was designed by Michael G. Frank to appease a former germ-conscious roommate, its smart shape prevents cross-contamination with bendable, semi-perforated shelves that encourage drainage and inhibit bacterial growth. Made in New York.

While I am by no means a germaphobe, but it's helped my family and I in three ways
1) Builds awareness about where the sponges have been (cleaning up chicken on the counters or the plates in the sink
2) Keeps our sponges organized instead of all over the place
3)Brings a smile to our faces each day...
I love the "Good vs Evil" labeling - and it makes me smile.

In short - the Spongester is surprisingly useful and puts a smile on my face everytime I go into the kitchen.

I even bought one for my mother in law as a gift.

I'm really trying to think of something wrong about it, but I can't see anyway to improve it, unless it had a way to shoot radon lasers or something to blow up all bacteria on the sponges.

All in all a great addition to the kitchen and a great gift.

This certainly should be a convenient way to store sponges. However, the way the metal is shaped with the one that I received, the shelves angle downward to the point that dry sponges slide off, most especially with the lower evil sponge shelf. After receiving it, I took a close look at the product photo, and mine is shaped differently than the one shown in the picture. I've tried slightly bending the shelves so the shelves don't angle downwards so much, but I didn't have any luck. I'm still keeping it as it's not worth my time to return, and it's still better than alternatives I've found... but dry sponges constantly sliding down (tacky looking) or falling completely off the product is a frustration in an otherwise helpful and unique product. If you are constantly using sponges to where they don't really have a chance to dry out, you'll probably be fine. I'm sure the surface I keep this on is very level -- as already mentioned, what I received is shaped a bit differently than the photo. With a little more effort, I should be able to bend it a little. Kudos that the metal is so sturdy, but that is also making it harder to bend the shelves to a proper angle. Bad quality control - customers shouldn't have to bother with reshaping this thing.

    Comments about UncommonGoods Spongester:

It's about time someone developed a holder for our sponges. It's so important that the sponge doesn't sit on the sink and gather germs. This works great, with air holes to keep the sponge dry and keep out germs. Excellent Design!!

As I said, great quality, does the job but I wish the good/evil sponge was more prominent. I have tried to darken with black marker and/or paint, and it is more visible. But great product. My husband hates smelly, wet sponges, so this is marriage salvation!

I like that it's labeled to ensure the "good sponge" goes on top, to avoid it. Ring dropped on by the "bad sponge." I also like that it has holes to drain. No signs of rust either.
