Leaves & Stone
Alan Yarmark's handcrafted stoneware bowl comes filled with two things—natural inspiration and ceramic artistry—but there's still plenty of room for your famous pasta primavera. Alan starts by rolling out sheets of stoneware, which he shapes with a mold into an elegantly flared form. After a first firing comes the inspiration from nature: Alan applies Aspen leaf images to the interior and then fires it a final time with a multicolored "moonscape" glaze. The colors play around the leaf accents thanks to a temporary wax protection that disappears in firing. Generous enough to serve a family-style salad or pasta, it makes a stand-out wedding gift. Handmade in Villa Grove, Colorado, where the spectacular Sangre de Cristo mountain scenery keeps Alan inspired.
Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.
